Christchurch Ropes Course (CRC) is located at The Kimihia Campsite and is owned by the Kahikatea Adventure Education Trust (KAET) in partnership with Girl Guiding NZ, supported by Christchurch City Council and is managed by Horizons Unlimited.

The ropes course consists of two Low Ropes Course and two High Ropes Pods which have both belay and rix-i-trix elements. Horizons Unlimited look after the facility and it's equipment, and manage safety at the site. We provide qualified instructors to run the ropes course programmes and provide training and support for instructors/organisations who wish to operate the facility alongside us. Bookings for the ropes course are to made in advance with us (info@horizons.co.nz).

We run a number of thrilling, exciting and different programmes, from day courses to camps and utilise the facilities to reach your learning outcomes. Enquire now about how we can run your camp or day at the CRC.

Kimihia is situated inside the Groynes with easy access to a number of fantastic natural resources, but tucked away from public access. Kimihia is a fabulous place for camping. Suitable for tenting and outdoor activities it is accessed through the “The Groynes” in Johns Road, Belfast. This site is perfect for camping and is set up with a small shelter, camping near the shelter, water and toilets. The site however has no power - made for people that want to go full camping but within Christchurch. Camping is available through booking with Girl Guiding NZ (property@ggnz.org.nz).

The Groynes has a permanent PAPO orienteering course. For school groups and corporate training we can run these for you.
