Why you should use Horizons Unlimited Ltd safety management services:
- We are accredited Safety Auditors as certified by the Quality Society of Australasia
- We are founding members of ROSA - the Register of Outdoor Safety Auditors
- We are holders of 'Achiever Status' as issued by the Department of Labour - OSH.
We Can:
1. Develop your Safety Management Plan for you (from $1,800*)
We will work with you to develop a safety management plan that is based on current industry Best Practice - it will be comprehensive, workable and will meet all legal requirements.
You will receive a full working Safety Management Plan (in hard copy and electronic form) complete with all the necessary documentation, including forms, checklists and other tools. This plan will clearly meet the requirements of the HSE Act and will help you to establish/further develop your operational safety systems. This plan will then be submitted for independent audit (cost included).
2. Audit your Safety Management Plan (DOC Requirement) (approx. $825*)
This is a comprehensive assessment of your safety management plan - the systems, documents and tools that you have in place to manage the safety of employees and clients. During this 'systems audit' we will measure your safety management plan against the requirements of the HSE Act 1992 (and amendments), other associated legislation, and Best Industry Practice.
We will provide you with a comprehensive 'Audit Report' that gives clear feedback including areas of non-conformance (the mandatory improvements required) and any recommendations for improving your safety systems to a 'Best Practice' level.
If your safety management plan does not initially meet the minimum requirements, you will be given clear feedback, some ideas on how to make the improvements and an opportunity to re-submit. A final 'Audit Report' and 'Certification Letter' for DOC will be released at the end of the process.
3. Develop your Entire Safety Management System (cost varies - please ask)
For larger/more complex businesses, we can develop an entire Safety Management System - this will help you manage safety across a range of activities, sites and even countries. The system will provide you with everything from full safety management policies, operating procedures and tools to support safe practice. We can also provide intra-web based systems, staff training safety leadership, support and on-going advisory services.
4. Audit your Operational Safety Management (cost varies - please ask)
This audit will provide a measure of actual operational safety management. Considered a key ingredient in any Best Practice approach to safety management these audits involve a systematic assessment from safety policies through procedures to actual operations and include a measurement of safety culture. They involve the on site observation and appraisal of actual service delivery, staff and client interviews and checks of equipment and systems.
A comprehensive 'Operational Audit Report' will detail current safety performance, and include specific recommendations to improve your safety systems and operational safety to a Best Practice level.
* Costs above exclude gst and are indicative of small/medium size businesses. Due to variance of size, activities and complexity accurate costs will be supplied on application.
