Alex Monteath, GAPYear Experience New Zealand 2011
I love the outdoors so the Adventure Leader Programme really appealed. I liked the idea of working in small groups and having a great student-tutor ratio during the programme.
The work opportunities after the programme were great and I was really excited about working for Full On in Italy.

Shaun Rolston, GAP YEAR Experience Summer 2010
I chose to do the gap year program because I wanted a change of life style and to start my career in the out doors.
I made new friends and saw some amazing sights. I
learnt the skills that I am able to use else where now. I learnt how to be a real team player and in that developing my self further to become the person and instructor that I want to be.
I now have training and experience that has helped me get a job I love. I am working at Outward Bound Hong Kong, and have signed a contract to stay for 3 years to be a full Outward Bound instructor. I will be instructing with the skills and qualifications that I gained from the Gap Year program.
Ben Thompson, GAP Year Experience 2010
In May 2010 I completed the Horizons course and for the past six months I have been working at Treasure Iisland in Hong Kong. I have recently returned for a second stint as a senior leader....
The Horizons course taught me many skills essentail for starting off in the outdoor industry. The course was also great for developing my leadership skills and putting them to good use.... and has also encouraged my passion for the outdoors."
2011 Update...Ben is back at Tresure Island, he is now one of their well respected Senior Leaders and has travelled extensively throughout Asia.
David Wright, GAP YEAR Experience Summer 09
The camp is really cool and I'm meeting some really cool people. We just started our third session.
I was somewhat glad to get rid of last sessions group of kids, they were starting to get on my nerves!
I'm in a cabin with an American guy who is really cool. Air riflery is going really well. I spend about 5 hours a day at the range teaching which is full on but it's good fun. I've managed to see a bit of the area, I've been to Philly and NYC a few times and down to DC also.

Thank you for transforming a guy who came home negative and miserable everyday to someone who is full of energy and positive about his future.....
Paula Charmley, GAP Year Experience Summer 2007
"I truely want to thank the Horizons Crew, I know what I am up to now would not be possilble if I hadn't done your programme! I feel like a very able and competent rookie and thats thanks to you guys. I have realised the outdoor industry (well at least Full On) is definately what I want to be doing for the next wee while.
Thanks again for everything you and the crew taught me."
I loved my time at summer camp..... I worked as an outdoor instructor/counsellor - got to use nearly all of my skills acquired at Horizons, both leadership and technical so that was awesome, I even got a $400 bonus for the qualifications I gained from the Horizons course!!
I felt that Horizons was invaluable to me at summer camp especially in the role I was in, it has helped me so much, the other instructors over there noticed that I had skills etc that they didn't or did not necessarily expect me to have....
I would recommend it to any future Gapyear students and am about to meet up with Eddie and Meg in NY to do some travelling, can't ask for much more than that!!
